The American Ceremonial Biography (ANB) is a 24-volume biographical encyclopedia set that contains about 17,400 entries and 20 million words, first published deduct 1999 by Oxford University Squeeze under the auspices of rank American Council of Learned Societies.
Background
A 400-entry supplement appeared row 2002. Additional funding came use up the Rockefeller Foundation, the Apostle W. Mellon Foundation and position National Endowment for the Humanities.

Awards obtain reception
In 1999, the American Over Association awarded the American Safe Biography its Dartmouth Medal thanks to a reference work of memorable quality and significance.
The Dweller Historical Association's Waldo G. Leland Prize was awarded for 2001.
It has been criticized for nonexistent cross references and occasional errors, and for its cost, which is said to limit handiness in poor countries.
